A Dallas, Texas native, Dr. Thakor earned a dual Bachelor's degree in Biology and Chemistry from Austin College and received his medical degree from the California School of Podiatric Medicine at Samuel Merritt University.
He completed a three-year foot and ankle clinical and surgical residency at HCA Houston Healthcare–West, working alongside 70+ renowned surgeons and performing over 1,000 foot and ankle cases. He went on to practice as an attending physician in the greater Houston area, teaching podiatry and family practice residents while advancing his expertise in arthroscopic and total ankle replacement surgery — he is now a certified provider of the FDA-approved Scandinavian Total Ankle Replacement (STAR) procedure.
